More Pain, Mightier Gain ...

More Pain, Mightier Gain…

Mickey with his Bandages !
To help a person in need is believed to be the noblest deed that a person can perform in his/her life time .The tendency to help a person is inborn for a few while the others inculcate it by way of experience.
To substantiate, a twelve-year-old boy was traveling in a bus back home. This boy was enlivened by the fact that the bus he boarded was a new of its kind and something novel to him. His fascination and amusement made him forget to enquire if the bus he boarded would stop at his destination, despite the bus running on the same route. His journey was pretty uneventful. He gazed at things outside the bus. He got ready to alight from the bus as his destination approached.
To his surprise, it did not show any signs of slowing down! Soon the bus over-shot his destination. The boy felt his stomach tingling in fright. In his bewildered state, he didn’t know how to act. With anxiety and confusion clouding his mind, he jumped out of the bus!
Newton's law of Inertia sure came true.

Flying out, he  landed on the pavement with a thud, in one piece, but badly injured. His knees were profusely bleeding, his elbows bore scratches all over and there were mild bruises on his forehead. As can be imagined, people soon gathered around him in no time. They started to watch like something very entertaining was taking place. The boy was groaning in pain - still in a trance, unsure of what just had happened. That’s when he felt a gentle pat on his back.

There stood two school going kids who were about the same age as he. Well you know what they say, "Help always comes in its own attire- leaving behind in our thoughts a lesson, a memory, an inspiration, worthy of a lifetime."  The kids, unlike others, washed his bleeding wounds. They then bound his knees with their kerchiefs. The "audience" looked on. Were they touched? Were they moved? What were they thinking and feeling? Did this act of the kids' make the encircled crowd ashamed that they never volunteered to help that kid, but rather whiled their time watching the kid groan in agony? Yes, it did. Realization struck the minds of people; soon they took the boy to the hospital.

The lucky boy was I. Yes, lucky. Though I got physically weak, my heart grew larger and mind- stronger. This incident also embarked an unforgettable scar in my heart. I felt sorry for that innocent crowd who couldn’t understand that their help, however trivial would have been a great deed. Getting hurt and lying there without any first-aid or help, I had felt dejected and isolated though surrounded by many. A very insignificant issue maybe, yet, it taught me a valuable lesson in life. The spark in me was ignited then. That’s when I realized that helping others never went out of fashion, it was just that everyone is so caught up with their own lives that they have forgotten to look around themselves.
The most beautiful things in life cannot be bought, sensed, seen or touched - they must be felt with the heart. Those kids will stay etched in my heart forever. The dictionary does give the meaning of the word "help", but I owe my gratitude to those kids who made me truly understand it. "Vague is the pain I then experienced, but overwhelming is the inspiration that rose from it." This inspiration is what keeps me going each day. As time passed by I became aware that there were many people who were in desperate need of help, hence I resolved that I would not be ignorant to those who seek my help.
Kids are the world's best gifts !
I also inferred from my helping experience that --
“Life is not how happy we are with ourselves, but how much happiness we can create among others”.
It has given me the power to help and regard everyone as an individual for who they are and not for what they do. I feel proud to say, I learnt the lesson of a lifetime, and never forgot it. It has made me stronger and more sensitive.

Thank you kids, "audience", and yeah - the novel bus I got into!

The stresssss..

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience,
raised a glass of water and asked, 'How heavy is this glass of water?'

Answers called out
ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem..
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'

He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
the burden will become increasingly heavy:
and we won't be able to carry on. '

'As with the glass of water,
you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again..
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.
So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down: don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
let them down for a moment if you can.'

Long long ago , so long ago... no one knows how long ago......

Seeing the tittle - which is a familiar story-start up, don't think there would be a story.  Sorry folks, there's no story today. But I am gonna write about the past in the present. Confusing is it.. ? Don worry, you will be more perplexed when you get to the end of the post. We've learnt about past, our past, the past of ancestors and their ancestors , their ancestors and so on.. in a very "interesting" branch of human study called History.  I don't know why most of my friends loathed this beautiful branch of study, which is the base of how we live and what we do today. I really don't get to know why most of my pals had a great aversion to this stream, which enables us to lead a fairly peaceful and comfortable life today , tomorrow and the day-after... But this is not a lecture about the  importance of History and its significance in modern life, upon which we have been lectured several times by our highly capable teachers. Past is a huge ocean, I am not saying about the past of the whole universe. I am appealing to the past of ourselves - our own past - our childhood,  maybe our first love, moments- the tricky ones, confusing ones, lovely ones, emotional ones.... the ones we like to remember...!! But there are some, which are not worth remembering. The sad ones, humiliating ones, joyless ones , the unfortunate and unfulfilled ones, the ones which crush us...  ----  all these make up our past, our own past. !! Each one of us know that its important to keep in mind, our past to take steps that make up our future.
Yesterday will definitely influence, not only today but also the "tomorrow" and the "days after tomorrow" ...

Therefore, lead a pleasant present so that in the future, when you turn back , you will have a joyful past to look at , which will keep you going till you attain mortality or... immortality ...----- who knows.  :)

The True Artist

The tRuE ArTiSt...

There are somethings in life which people may not be able to get with money. One such pleasure is seeing a beautiful and charming young girl painting her own imagination on a sheet of paper. For the girl, her whole world is the layout she runs her hands on, her aides are the mighty paint brushes of different heights and sizes, a basket of colors like paints, pens, inks and the crazy crayons of course. The pretty girl's only aim for then is to make the blank layout she works on, into one which is just neat, colorful and attractive. The curiosity lies in the fact that she is not selfish, nor in search of fame and appreciation when she beautifully runs her hand over the most fortunate bare sheet of paper. Her eyes constantly search every corner of the layout on which she works - to add more value to her work. She puts her heart and soul in whatever she does, eyes on the layout and mind about her own imagination and about how better can she portray her endless flow of imaginations and ideas. When she sees someone looking at her (which is very rare ) , she smiles... the smile is innocent and it can even mold the hardest of men . She does not complain the sweat which comes from her thin and fragile hands, but she takes them as signs of encouragement, signs to move forward and work harder. The layout which is fortunate to get such a pretty and cute girl working on it, cooperates with the girl and responds joyfully to her creative hands. She then takes a step forward, playing with the layout, interacting with it and making use of the things available, brings out a magic. Her eyes are simply magical - they pay keen attention to each and every mark on the paper , they sense what can be done out of nothing. The true artist never feels that she has done 100% justice to the layout and her imagination. She feels something lacking in her beautiful masterpiece although she's worked on it for several hours, days, months, or even years. The lacking thing may strike the artist in a second or may strike her after hours of staring her masterpiece. But it will strike - sometime or the other. Once it strikes, she will eventually make amends and pulls out a never seen wonder at which people look gaping their mouths. She keeps the thousands of praises aside and gets to work to one more spell-bounding beauty.

Hope i were the brush she holds, or the layout she works on , or at least the crazy and naughty crayons.. But all i can do for now is write about her. ... And say that i am glad to have had her as my class mate and one of my dear friends ..... !!
